Galloman Translation and Interpreting Agency translates texts of varying complexity in every combination of Hungarian, French, and English, from the fields of economics, law, medicine, engineering, culture, and many others.
Amongst other documents, we regularly translate the following types of texts to guarantee successful multilingual communication for our clients:
- contracts, articles of association, documents for company registration;
- financial reports, annual reports;
- technical specifications, operating manuals;
- marketing documents, brochures;
- press releases;
- … and anything else that can be imagined (and perhaps things beyond that), which gives us the opportunity to improve and get to know new industries.
Sometime we are asked, “Why do you work only in French, English and Hungarian?” Unlike other agencies, we do not support the idea of broadening our scope to as many languages as possible. Instead, we believe that the key to providing high-quality service is to use the few languages we have mastered.
The foundation of quality
The recipe for quality has three components: the translator, the proofreader, and the agency’s knowledge management.
Our translators, who are fully qualified and have excellent language skills, have lived in France for some time, and gained educational and/or company experience there. The foundation of our high-quality service is that such experience is based not just on language skills, but also on cultural knowledge within each specific area.
Proofreading is an essential part of the translation process. In every case, our translated texts are subject to both professional and linguistic proofreading to guarantee good quality. Thus, we ensure the appropriate use of terminology in line with the context as well as a high degree of grammatical accuracy.
Anyone who has read a translation that has been done quickly, without being reviewed, can see that the ‘quick and cheap’ solution too often proves to be the most expensive one.
Modern CAT (computer assisted translation) tools offer great support for knowledge sharing and quality assurance. The advantage of using them is that, regardless of who the translator is, we can ensure that texts are uniformly treated, and that terminology is consistent and tailored to the customer’s needs. Our translations are carried out with the help of the latest version of ‘memoQ’ translation software. MemoQ is complemented by the use of various other IT tools and systems, such as our own project administration software and high-end optical character recognition (OCR) tools, which help us to manage PDF documents or scanned texts more quickly and accurately.
The fee for translation can vary for specific areas and languages, but some general rules should be kept in mind when seeking to understanding pricing.
The advantage of translation memories is that the fee for translation can – and typically does – gradually decrease over the long term. This is our way of rewarding our customers’ loyalty. It should also be noted that most agencies charge ‘extra’ fees (for example, a higher rate for urgent texts). Insofar as it is possible to meet urgent deadlines, we will do so, and at no extra cost
